THE JIM CROW MUSEUM
A communications internship. Created various graphics and led two content campaigns.
INTRODUCTION
The Jim Crow Museum of Racist Imagery is a historical site that showcases the history of African American resilience. At the time, I was a communications intern tasked with creating content for the museum's social media platforms, in addition to designing various graphics and promotional materials.
I utilized several software, including Canva, Affinity Designer, and Affinity Publisher, alongside media analytics tools such as Hootsuite and Meta Business Suite, to fulfill various projects. Here are some of the things I did.
#On This Day
Social media management is a fun yet challenging process. I had the opportunity to learn and explore this field throughout my internship. In this role, I took the initiative to develop and post content ideas that would help boost engagement on the museum's social media platforms.
One of my most successful initiatives was the #OnThisDay post, a content series tailored to showcase historical events. I took the lead in researching, creating, and writing these engaging posts.
As the name suggests, this idea focused on events that occurred on specific days. The goal was to foster interest in the museum's audience. The post below received 100+ likes on Instagram.

#Who Am I
Alongside the #OnThisDay campaign, I created another series to boost audience engagement: #WhoAmI. This content idea challenged viewers to solve the weekly riddles.
I took the lead in researching, creating, and writing these engaging posts to accomplish this goal. Again, as the name suggests, this idea focused on guessing the chosen impactful, famous, or even obscured African American figures of history for that week. The post below received 49 likes on Instagram.

Graphic Design
Outside of managing the museum's socials, I was tasked with creating graphics for different projects. Here are some of the ones I did.
